Introduction

• Command prompt for short, is also known as CMD.       

• It is a Microsoft command-line interpreter that run all your typed commands in a line called a “command line”.

• Open Command Prompt by

--]] Start --]] Programs --]] Accessories --]] Command Prompt

OR

--]] Start --]] Run --]] Type CMD

• The Operating system works in a special area of storage called a drive.

1. A/B drive for floppy disk
2. C drive for first hard disk partition (Windows)
3. D/E drive for more partitions in hard disk (Data)
4. D/E/F for CD-ROM/DVD/Optical Drive
5. H drive for your network disk
6. S drive for your shared network disk
