• Short for Multi-Media-Card

• MMC is a memory card available as Flash memory and ROM.

• They are used in car radios, cell phones, digital cameras, PDAs, MP3players, and printers.

• Today, there are various sizes of the MMC card such as the MMC-plus (MMCP) and MMC-mobile / MMC-micro (MMCM).

• It consists of 7 pins.

• It has been superseded by Secure Digital cards (SD card), but still in use because MMCs can be used in most devices that support SD cards.

• In the picture above,is an example of a SanDisk 128MB MMC.
