 It is a HTTP status code that means the web site's server is simply not available right now. Most of the time this is because the server is too busy or because there's maintenance being performed on it.


Possible Remedies:-

 1.Reload the URL from the address bar again by clicking the reload/refresh button or pressing F5.

2.Come back later. It might be possible that when you accessed the website, huge increase in traffic by visitors (that's you!) is overloading the servers.
As more and more visitors leave the website, the chances of a successful page load for you increases.

3.Restart your router and then your computer, especially if you're seeing the "Service Unavailable - DNS Failure" error.
Sometimes computer's or router's DNS server configurations need a simple restart which might fix the problem.

Error 502 - Bad Gateway

It is a HTTP status code that means, one server received an invalid response from another server which the first server was accessing while attempting to load the web page as requested by the browser.


Possible Remedies:-

1.Try loading the URL again by pressing F5 on your keyboard, or by clicking the refresh/reload button. While the 502 Bad Gateway error usually indicates a network error not in your control, it could be extremely temporary. Trying the page again will often be successful.

2.Start a new browser session by closing all open browser windows and then opening a new one. Then try opening the webpage again.

3.Clear your browser's cache. Outdated or corrupted files that are being stored by your browser could be causing 502 Bad Gateway issues.

4. Delete your browser's cookies.

5.Start your browser in Safe Mode. Running a browser in Safe Mode means to run it with default settings and without add-ons or extensions, including toolbars. Some settings can be the cause.

6.Try another browser. Popular browsers include Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Safari, among others.

Error 500 -Internal Server error

It is a general HTTP status code that means something has gone wrong on the web site's server but the server could not figure out where the problem exactly is?
Most of the time, "gone wrong" means an issue with the page or site's programming, its nothing you have to do with.


Possible Remedy:-



1.Reload the web page. You can do that by clicking the refresh/reload button, pressing F5, or trying the URLagain from the address bar.


2.Clear your browser's cache. If there's a problem with the cached version of the page you're viewing, it could be causing HTTP 500 issues.


3.Delete your browser's cookies. Some 500 Internal Server Error issues can be corrected by deleting the cookies associated with the site you're getting the error on.

After removing the cookie(s), restart the browser and try again.



4.Take it as a 504 Gateway Timeout error instead and solve it.

It's not very common, but some servers produce a 500 Internal Server Error instead of 504 Gateway Timeout.


5.Contact the website directly.
The best way to find contact information for a website is through a WHOIS search, using the domain name (e.g. facebook.com) as your search term.
If an email address isn't listed, try webmaster@website.com, replacing website.com with the actual website name. Sending a message to the site via their social networking profile is another good idea.

6.Check out the site later.










Error 404 - Not found

A 404 error is an HTTP status code that means that the page you were trying to reach on a website couldn't be found on their server.
Another possibility is if a website has moved a page or resource and forgot to redirect the old URL to the new one. When that happens, you'll receive a 404 error instead of being automatically rdirected to the new page.

Possible Remedy:-

1. Retry the web page by pressing F5, clicking the refresh/reload button, or trying the URL from the address bar again.
2. Check for errors in the URL
3. Move up one directory level at a time in the URL until you find something.

For example, if www.abc.com/aaa/bbb/ccc.html gave you the 404 Not Found error, move up to www.abc.com/aaa/bbb/. If you get nothing here (or an error), move up to www.abc.com/aaa/. This should lead you toward what you're looking for or at least confirm that it's no longer available.

4. Search for the page at a popular search engine. It's possible that you simply have the entirely wrong URL in which case a quick Google or Bing search will help.
5. If you do find the page you were after, update your bookmark or favorite to avoid the HTTP 404 error in the future.
6. Clear your browser's cache and clearing your browser's cookies
7. Change the DNS servers used by your computer but usually only if an entire website is giving you a 404 error, especially if the website is available to others on other networks (e.g. your mobile phone network or a friend in another city).
8. Finally, if all else fails, contact the website directly.

A WHOIS search, using the site's domain name (e.g. weather.com) as your search term, should give you some contact information.
You might have luck emailing webmaster@website.com, replacing website.com with the actual website name.



















Error 403 – Forbidden error

It is an HTTP status code that means that accessing the page or resource you were trying to reach is absolutely forbidden (illegal,banned) for some reason. In other words it wants to say that : "Go away dude..!! and don't try to come back here."


Possible Remedy:-


1.Check for URL errors 

2.Clear your browser's cache. Cached version of the page you're viewing could be causing 403 Forbidden issues.

3.Clear your browser's cookies, especially if you log in to this website and logging in again didn't work.

4.Contact the website directly. It's possible that the 403 Forbidden error is a mistake, everyone else is seeing it too, and the website isn't yet aware of the problem.

You can often find a website's contact information through a WHOIS search, using the domain name (e.g. mtv.com) as your search term.

If an email address isn't listed, you might have luck emailing webmaster@website.com, replacing website.com with the actual website name.

5.Contact your ISP if your still getting the 403 error, especially if you've contacted the website in question and they say everything is good on their end.

It's possible that your public IP address, or your entire Internet Service Provider, has been blacklisted, a situation that could produce a 403 Forbidden error, usually on all pages on one or more sites.
6.Just revisit the page on a regular basis until the problem is fixed.
















Error 400 - Bad Request Error

When the request you send to the website server (Ex:- request to load a web page) is somehow gets malformed and because of which, the server is unable to understand and process the request.


Possible Remedy:-

1.Check for errors in the URL you have typed
2.Though it's rare, the 400 Bad Request error could be an issue with the web site's server that you are trying to access. 

You may want to attempt to contact the webmaster or another site contact and inform them of the error message. 

The webmaster of most Internet sites can be reached via email at webmaster@website.com, replacing website.com with the actual website name.

Remedies :-

1st way

For Google Chrome:-
  1. Click on “Customize and control Google Chrome” (On top-right corner of google chrome screen )
  2. Inside it, click on settings
  3. You will see a heading “On Startup”
  4. Inside it click on Set Pages
  5. A small window will pop-up. You will see some URL’s written in it. Clear them all.
  6. Click Ok and come out of it.
  7. Next You will see a heading “Search”
  8. Either select your search engine by choosing it from the drop down list. Otherwise, you can select your search engine by clicking on Manage Search Engines.

For Internet Explorer:-

  • Click on "Search Text Box" on top right corner of Internet Explorer
  • Click on the down-side arrow, which will display a list of search engines

  
  • If your particular search engine is not mentioned in that list, then click on “Find More Providers”
  • The following page will be displayed.Scroll down the page and click on the search provider you want.

 
 
 
  • A new page will be loaded and inside it, click on “Add to Internet Explorer”



 
 
  • A new window will be popped up. Simply click on “Add”

 
 
  • Now, again goto Step-2 and you will find your search engine available in the drop-down list.
  • Select it
2nd way:-
  1. Find the icon of your browser
  2. Right Click it
  3. Click on "Properties'"
  4. Look at the tabs, there will be a tab named “Shortcut”
  5. Inside the shortcut tab, there is a label called “Target” and after that a long address would be written.
  6. In that long address, remove everything after “.exe”.
  7. Remember, don’t remove “ after .exe
  8. Now do this for all icons for your browser.
  9. Sometimes, after doing this, the problem is not solved, so go into the settings of Google Chrome (click on “Customize and control Google Chrome” on top right side -> go to extensions in the left pane ->find the name which appears when a new tab open ->delete it )
  10. Restart the browser and your default page problem would be solved.

Are your deleted files, actually deleted..?


  • Little background: Your computer knows where files are physically located on your hard disk by looking up their location in a sort of table of contents.
  •  So when you empty your recycling bin, the files are still physically present on your hard disk, but your operating system (OS; e.g. Windows, Linux, etc.) erases the record of the file's existence from the table of contents.

  •  The physical location on your hard disk that your deleted file used to take up (and still is taking up until the data is over-written by another file) now looks like free space to your OS and other files can use that space.

  •  Extra info: There are programs that do a sort of reverse process in which they first go to the physical hard disk and read the files. Then they record the files' locations in the table of contents so that the files "exist" again and the OS knows of their "existence". This is what "data" recovery is; re-writing the table of contents if it is accidentally erased.

  5. The MAC address appears as Physical Address.

2nd way :-

Changing the icon of your Hard Drive...

Steps :-

1) Select an image

2) Convert it into .ico (128 X 128) format using softwares like ToyCon or goto converticon.com

3) Save the image as gimp.ico into the folder whose icon you want to change.You can save the image using any name. Here, I am saving it as gimp.ico

4) Then in that drive create a text document  and write the following into it     
        [AutoRun]            
        ICON=gimp.ico

5) Save it as autorun.inf

6) Then restart your computer, and wohooo... look..icon changed
