how to see the name of the linux distribution you are running?

In this, I am taking ubuntu in consideration. 

So, every linux version has a name assigned to it, for instance,
Ubuntu 14.04 - trusty
Ubuntu 16 - xenial

This command will fetch you the name of the OS you are using
